Prophecy Gov is ready to use the moment your city admin sends you an invitation. This guide walks you through accepting that invitation, signing in, finding your way around the interface, and sending your first chat message.

How access works

Prophecy Gov uses an invitation-only model. You cannot self-register — your city admin must invite you first. Once they send an invitation to your work email address, you’ll receive a link to join your city’s workspace.
1

Accept your invitation

Open the invitation email from Prophecy Gov and click the Accept Invitation link. The link takes you to a confirmation page that validates your token and connects your email to your city’s workspace. If your email address doesn’t yet have a Prophecy Gov account, you’ll be prompted to create one using that same address. Use your work email — the one the invitation was sent to.
Invitation links expire after 48 hours. If yours has expired, ask your city admin to resend it.
2

Sign in at prophecygov.com

Go to prophecygov.com and click Sign In. Prophecy Gov uses WorkOS AuthKit for authentication, which supports:
  • SSO — If your city has single sign-on configured, you’ll be redirected to your organization’s identity provider (such as Microsoft Entra or Google Workspace) and signed in automatically.
  • Email magic link — If SSO isn’t configured, enter your work email address and click the link sent to your inbox to complete sign-in.
After authenticating, you’ll land on the Chat page.
Use the same email address your invitation was sent to. Signing in with a different address will result in an access error.
3

Complete your profile

The first time you sign in, fill in your First Name, Last Name, Job Title, and Department in Account Settings. This information appears to your teammates in shared workspaces. You can update it anytime by clicking your name at the bottom of the sidebar and selecting Settings.
4

Explore the interface

The sidebar on the left gives you access to everything in Prophecy Gov:
  • Chat — Start a new conversation with the AI assistant. Previous chats are listed below the button.
  • Knowledge Base — Expand this section to access:
    • Online Records — Search publicly available city documents, meeting minutes, and municipal code.
    • Vault — Browse and upload your city’s internal files.
  • Templates — Create and use reusable document templates for staff reports and other recurring documents.
  • Settings — Update your profile, view your city’s configuration, and manage your account.
  • Support — Open a support chat or email hello@prophecygov.com if you need help.
5

Send your first message

Click Chat in the sidebar to open a new conversation. Type a question in plain language — for example:
“What did the city council discuss at the last planning commission meeting?”
Press Enter or click the send button. The AI will search your city’s document library and return a response with source citations. Click any citation to view the original document.
Be specific in your questions. Including context such as a date range, document type, or department helps the AI return more relevant results.
